Money: The Child We Have Generated.

review with nash money inside a cage

I was having a discussion with one of my colleagues and we both agreed that we all, everyone in the world, need ‘hearts filled with love.’ This really moved my heart. We also agreed that we sadly find some with pure ‘hearts of stone’. Also, in the midst of everything we also find the money. Or rather, money finds itself in the midst of everything.

The subject of the conversation was about abortion and the reality that generates and encourages the abortion mentality. We went on to say that that reality is the non-acknowledgement of God who creates each of us lovingly and teaches us what unconditional love really is.

This type of love is His gift and not just an instinct. Once we ignore and reject the fountain of unconditional love, our love becomes conditional, calculating, selfish. (It used to be called the ‘me-first generation’.) Why then have a child only to abort or rid of him/ her?

The current numbers of marriages and birth rate point to an inner malaise. The correspondent is quite right to point out so many determinants that militate against the family building. It is our prideful prosperity that is falling so crushingly on many parents.

But then, who is responsible for this state of affairs? All of us, one way or another. We went on to suggest that, given this state of the generation, we all need to ask pardon from God and intercede for one another. Pray for me as I pray for you too.

“The love for money is the root of all evil. Some people eager for money have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs” (1 Timothy, 6:10). We see this being played out before us. We referred to a Zimbabwean pastor whose story is making rounds saying he has slept with almost half of his congregation members.

Money and wealth is the child we have generated and it is turning out to be tyrannical. Who would want another child? We had to end the talk because we both had to rush elsewhere. I could see the passion as she expressed how she dislikes this attitude and negligence.
